Mimoza H is an instinctual and autodidact singer/songwriter and a multi-genre music producer originally from Kosovo currently based in Montreal. Her music has been described as “unique, intense and mysterious”. Her artistic approach (often compared to that of Björk, Wildbirds and Peacedrums, PJ Harvey, and Portishead), embodies an introspective journey of stories woven from her imagination and personal tumultuous life experiences influenced by the hardships of the constant moving.

These 'stories' convey a raw emotion enveloped by a wide sonic spectrum of organic sounds and subtle electronic beats. At times sharp and eclectic, her music is a timeless music experience fusing the reminiscent past with a breeze of an avant-garde.

In September 2016, Mimoza H released her debut EP titled ‘Uproot’ to some great audience reaction and music reviews in Canada, Quebec and Eastern Europe granting her “Artist to Watch” remarks by CBC Canada Premiere. It took two continents, three countries, a war and a tumultuous post-war era to have come to the realization of this debut project. In her words "I feel like I've lived three lives thus far". Since the debut EP, she has released two singles “Well of Melodies” and “Winterlude” as she continues working on new songs that will be released throughout the year including a second EP aiming for a release later this year.

She draws tastes and influences from the likes of Dead Can Dance, Kate Bush, Björk, PJ Harvey, Lhasa de Sela, Nick Cave, Ana Calvi, Portishead, The Cure, Chinawoman, Bowie, Jeff Buckley, Goldfrapp, Lamb, Mary Margaret O'Hara, as well as Southern Albanian music.

About UROOT:

Uproot is about upheavel, a sense of not really belonging anywhere hence sprouting and growing among the rocks. It is a discovery when one realizes that they belongnowehere and everywhere at any given time in this universe.

The music is an introspective journey of personal and imaginative stories enveloped by a wide sonic spectrum of organic sounds and subtle electronic beats, a blend of alternative pop/rock,elektrip-hop, and ethereal wave. At times jazzy, sharp and eclectic, the sounds and melodies are derivative of her Eastern European roots. The lyrical writing is abstract and image-driven.

This debut includes six songs created in collaboration with incredibly talented musicians: Charles F. Huot, François Cloutier, Jonathan Cayer, Mathias Schneeberger, les Frères Grand, Joss Tellier, Samuel Joly, Brigitte Briga Dajczer, Pierre-Alexandre Bouchard, Frederic Boivin, Mario Sévigny, Louis D.

On the mixing and production works, Mimoza worked closely with Mathias Schneeberger (Foo Fighters, Joseph Arthur, Queens of the Stone Age, Mark Lanegan) in Los Angeles. The mastering was fashioned in by the Capitol Records veteran Mark Chalecki (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Mazzy Star, The Vines, The Brian Jonestown Massacre).
